ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES


    Our “Activities Site” is currently down as we integrate the website with our new app. In an effort to keep you informed the app will include lots of features such as rosters, schedules, action photos and much more for all sports (as will the website). We will be publishing more about the app and all its features soon.

    NEW – Marching Band Meeting – Sunday, August 2nd @ 7:30pm in Band Room
    Mr. Smyth would like to meet with all marching band members and their parents before practice starts on August 3rd.  If you are a marching band member please plan to attend!

    All-Sports Meeting – Sunday, August 2nd @ 6pm in Fieldhouse (followed by fall sports breakout meetings)
    This year we have changed our fall sports meeting to an all-sports meeting.  Our reason for switching to an all-sports meeting at the beginning of the year are:

    1. Positive Coaching School - Announcement of becoming a “Positive Coaching School” – There will be a speaker from the University of Missouri Positive Coaching Institute.
    2. Helias Athletic Information - To convey general information regarding our athletic programs one time for our parents and athletes.  Our winter and spring sport meetings will be breakout sessions for teams only.  Following the all-sports meeting there will be breakout sessions for fall sports teams only
    3. Handing out of NFL Cards – This will give everyone a chance to pick up their NFL cards to sell and have the opportunity to offset the cost of their participation fee.  Please come early to pick them up or pick them up during office hours prior to the meeting.
    4. Booster BBQ Tickets – Our annual “Booster BBQ” tickets will be available.  We need everyone to come out on Wednesday, August 12th 4:30-7:30pm to get some great BBQ!  Tickets are available in the office ahead of time. 

    All-Activities Meeting – Sunday, August 16th @ 6pm in Fieldhouse    
    For the first time we will be having an activities meeting.  This meeting will give students an opportunity to come with their parents and see what activities we have available at Helias.  After discussing information regarding our activities we will have breakout sessions where students and parents can receive information and schedules regarding activities they are interested in.

    Activity members that are in MSHSAA sanctioned activities will be required to sell NFL cards or pay a participation fee.  Those activities are:  Band, Choir, Speech Team and Academic Team.  Cards can be picked up in the office or will be available for pick up at the meeting.
