Information You Should Know

Japanese Students ~ In January, Helias families hosted two Japanese students for one month.  These young ladies had an exceptional experience with their host families.  Their principal would like to offer the same type of experience to three students in October.  Two families have agreed to host girls so we just need one more.  The students would be girls coming from a Notre Dame High School in Kyoto, Japan.  If you would be at all interested, please contact Sr. Jean.  She will give you the details and also put you in contact with the families who were hosts this year.  The principal would like the students to have Skype contact before they come.  Thanks for considering.

Window Envelopes for office use ~ These envelopes can be donated envelopes with a return address which we can put a Helias Catholic return label over.  The window opening needs to be on the left side.

One-sided paper ~ We are also in need of good one-sided paper that we can use in our copiers.  It would be very helpful if it is all turned the same direction so it can just be dropped into the paper tray.

Numerous parishes are gearing up for NCYC (National Catholic Youth Conference) which is Nov 16-19. Contact your individual parish to register for this conference. For more information on the conference check out the following link: http://www.diojeffcity.org/national-catholic-youth-conference-ncyc-2017/

The Helias Cycling Club will be hosting their first ride of the year this Saturday,  August 19th beginning at 9:00 A.M. We will meet at the main entrance to Helias. The planned ride will take us across the Missouri River and along Mokane Road. From there we will circle back through North Jefferson City and check out all the festivities that are being set up for the eclipse event. The ride will end at the State parking lot across the street from Red Wheel Bike Shop at 400 W. Main Street, or back at Helias if that is where you parked your car. If you would like to go on the ride but do not have a bike or a helmet please contact David Bange at 291-8261 by Thursday the 17th and he will arrange to have one for you thanks to Red Wheel bike shop and Healthy Schools Healthy Communities. The number of bikes is somewhat limited so if you need one get in touch with me as soon as possible.  It is anticipated that the ride will last about 1 ½ hours. Everyone is welcome. A short instructional presentation will be given at the beginning of the ride to remind everyone of the rules and obligations of riding both on and off City Streets. If you have any questions you may call David Bange at 291-8261. Follow us on Twitter @HeliasCycling
